Finance
Approaches to selling, agriculture, operations and politics vary from country to country – in China, between regions. These different approaches have evolved over time to make the most of the opportunities that local conditions provide. They will continue to evolve as the environments in which we operate develop.

As a member of our Finance scheme, you will be based initially in the UK. You’ll then be exposed to placements in a number of our overseas operations. We’ll give you a solid grounding in financial management and as your knowledge of the business grows, you will be in a position to contribute to both short-term cost optimisation, and its future direction of our business.

The emphasis is on fast-track development. In addition to real work, you’ll be studying and progressing towards your CIMA qualification over your first 30 months. At the end of this period, having successfully completed the graduate programme and gained CIMA qualification, you will be appointed to a Finance role in one of our business units within the UK or overseas. It’s a level of responsibility that very few employers can offer so early on.

Attributes

We look for:

  • The ability to think fast, analyse data quickly and to make judgements based upon sound facts
  • The enthusiasm and personal energy to achieve challenging targets
  • The courage to embrace change and lead by example in a changing environment
  • The flexibility to adapt quickly and appropriately to cultural norms
  • The ambition to succeed and resilience to deliver.

Requirements

To be eligible for the Finance scheme, you need:

  • Total flexibility regarding international mobility and location
  • A 2:1 honours degree in Business/Finance-related discipline
  • The right to work in the UK for the duration of the scheme, http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/
  • Ideally, fluency in European languages or Mandarin.

Training and Development

If you’re commercially-driven, the scheme will give you the chance to progress into roles within Finance. You’ll get a solid grounding through a series of challenging work placements, which will lead to attainment of CIMA qualification status. What’s more, our formal and informal support network – including mentors and buddies – will be behind you all the way. Mentors are senior people who will provide you with an invaluable insight into the business. Buddies are normally ex-graduates who have completed the scheme.

Benefits

  • £30,500 reviewed every 6 months + £1500 signing on bonus
  • Assisted relocation
  • Full support towards achievement of CIMA qualification and chartered status
  • Formal and informal mentoring schemes
  • Opportunities for cross-functional moves
  • Contributory pension scheme for the duration of the scheme
  • 21 days’ holiday in the first year rising to 26 in subsequent years plus 8 days’ statutory holiday
  • Other flexible benefits.
