A diverse and constantly evolving business, British Sugar is the leading sugar supplier in the UK. We process the country’s entire sugar beet crop and meet more than half the country’s sugar requirements.

We do this through highly complex industrial operations that centre on four state-of-the-art sugar beet processing sites in the UK. Our plants match anything in the oil, chemical and power industries for complexity and sophistication.

But despite our name, our business is not confined to Britain. British Sugar Group has operations in Africa, Europe and the Far East, with all constituent parts of the organisation working closely together to make the most of each other’s strengths. The result is a high-performance operation, which makes a significant contribution to the profitability of our parent company ABF (Associated British Foods) – one of Europe's biggest food groups.

In return, ABF gives us the financial strength to invest in long-term projects, which keep us at the forefront of our industry and help make us the most cost-effective sugar producer in Europe.
